Remembering Well: Rituals for Celebrating
Life and Mourning Death

Sarah York

Synopsis

Help me remember my loved ones! That is the plea and invitation of the bereaved, and York responds with practical advice and solid resources to help people remember. The book affirms from the outset the importance of ritual and, after defining ritual, invites the reader to give expression to that ritual as their needs determine.

It begins with the reminder that ritual is giving words (and actions) to our sorrow. We compose a service, enter into holy space, make soul sketches, and provide the ties to families and memories.
The Rev. Dr. Richard B. Gilbert,
Executive Director, The World Pastoral Care Center
