I wish I had one more moment with you. Just one moment, to tell you that I love you and will love you forever. You are my life and I cannot see a future without you in it. I know that you were on the verge of pain and I should be happy that you do not have to go through that but the pain I am enduring is more than physical. It is all consumming. I hold you so deeply in my heart that I ache. I go through my days numb of the concern and affection that is offered to me.
You were the only man in my life who ever knew me and loved me unconditionally. I will forever regret hurting you and thank you for letting the past be forgotten and for wanting me back in your life.
The doctor's told you there would be at least 6 months...you only lasted 10 days and were gone. I would have spent the rest of my life caring for you. I am sorry that I was not more insistent with the hospice nurses and the doctors to make them see your condition sooner. I am sorry that the paramedics did not check you out when they were there. They might have helped. I am glad that you were not panicked nor afraid when you died.
I am sorry that I lost two years of telling you 'I love you' like we did every night for 9 years before I left.
I will never love another as I love you nor will anyone love me as you did.
I miss you.

Your beloved wife and best friend, Peg
