We walked the road of life alone
for many years just the two of us.
Though your tender heart overflowed
with God's gift of generosity
your path in life was filled with thorns.
Still you gave all you had to give
and asked for nothing in return.
The years were long. The times were hard
but now I pray you've found your reward
through peace and love in your heavenly home.
