I remember the day in the meadow, the sun warmed us from the sky.
We laughed and we talked to each other, letting the day slip by.
I wish I had one more day in the meadow, everything was magic it seems,
I'd hold your hand tightly and never let go......
I thank God for that day in the meadow, for that memory is precious to me.
There are days we remember when time was stilled, they're etched in our mind like a movie reel.
I play them whenever I feel all alone, and when I miss you, and want to be home.
I wish I had one more day in the meadow, everything was magic it seems,
I'd hold your hand tightly and never let go......
I thank God for that day in the meadow, for that memory is precious to me.
Time marches on at it's own speed, pushing us ever along.
And fate holds cruel cards up its shirt sleeve but we play & try to be strong.
I wish I had one more day in the meadow, everything was magic it seems,
I'd hold your hand tightly and never let go......
I thank God for that day in the meadow, for that memory is precious to me
Time has passed on with its changes, seasons have come & they've gone
I know things will always be changing, and we must learn to move on.
But I'll always remember that one day, the day when we were best friends.
I'll remember your smile & your laughter and hold it where those days don't end.
