On a Saturday night of April 5,1997 will live on my family's mind for the rest of our lives. My sister,Angie, was killed by a female drunk driver. Not only did it affect our lives, but also her 8-month old baby boy. Any woman who had any "motherly instincts" would show some remorse for killing a baby's mom but this female drunk driver didn't. No one knows what it is like for Angie's son,Brandon, growing up. He is now 7yrs old and wanting a mommy so bad that he calls my mom "MOM". He is still too young to under-stand what happened to his mom, but my family always tell him about her. We tell him that he "inherited" his basketball skills from her because she was a very good ball player and even saved newspaper clippings and made a photo album full of memories of her from the time she was a baby til the time of her death. One day, he will be able to look back on this album since that's all we have left of her and know how much she loved him the short time she had with him. But Angie not only left us with memories, but also a son whom is our rock through hard times. It doesn't replace Angie but it gives us some comfort knowing that he is a part of someone we lost to drunk driving. That's why we call her, "Angie our Angel".
In loving memory of "Angie, our angel" killed by a drunk driver April 5,1997.
