Footprints in the Sand
Love Always and Forever
, Lisa Marie Metzger and family; Gary, Barb, Amy "Buddy"
One night a man had a dream
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes fro his life flashed across the sky and he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life had flashed before him, he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life there was only one set of footprints.
Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. I don't understand why when I needed you most, you would leave me."
The Lord replied "My precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffereing when you saw only one set of footprints...
That was when I carried you."
It is very hard losing someone you care about. Our family lost two wonderful, loving, laughing, happy, joyful, spiritual, energetic people very close to us in a short period of time.
When Uncle Dave "Fred" left us, he did it with his love for his wife in mind. It was very hard on all of us to see her fight everyday. She was a very strong willed woman, and when she said she wasn't ready, she wasn't ready.
Aunt Barbie "boo" held on more than any of us would have been able to, she did it all for us. Now her and her beloved husband are up there, watching over us, and most of all their four children; whom they are so proud of. Ricky, Christopher, Brian and Anna...
...you all should be very proud, and cherish the fact that you had two of the worlds greatest parents all to yourselves. They are looking down on you smiling, knowing that you all loved them so much and would and did anything you could for both of them.
You stood by your mothers side, holding her hand, rubbing her back, kissing her, giving her the care and love, and concern she needed until she went to rest with your father.
Now she will take care of you all for eternity. Do not stand at the grave and cry, they are not there...they did not die. Remember that, because they may be out of sight, but they will never be out of mind. We need to be strong, and keep them happy. We need to know everytime we look into the sky, and that one star is shining brighter than the rest, that is them saying they are okay now.
They are together again.
Nomatter the time, they will always be there, you just talk to them, you tell them you love them, and never stop talking of them and sharing the memories....we all have so many to giggle about, smile about, laugh at, and share with everyone....
here's a good one.........."you call this stuff salad dressing......I use this to $#@&*!!" we remember that one too well Aunt Barbie!!!!!
I love you guys, I am sorry I didn't have longer to tell you. But someday I will see you again on the other side. Please watch over us, and thank you for leaving four wonderful children in our family.
You guys have touched everyone you know, and that knows you. Thank you for that.
We miss you already!
