My family has been hit really hard the last year and a half... In August of 2004 I myself was diagnosed with (AML) Lukemia and almost lost the battle several times. Being a complete match and on his way to Germany,my brother was my donor in January of 2005. My mother was by my side through the whole thing. In January she was hit with a very bad cold but sill sat in the waiting room of SLU waiting the results of my brothers bone harvest and my transplant. Even not allowed in she still had to be present. Mom fell in April and tore her ACL and had to have surgery. Fighting infection after infection and illness after illness she was diagnosed in August of 2005 with the dreaded cancer... Pancreatic and Liver. We were struck again! Me still recovering and now mom. She was told it wont be long. She fought tooth and nail spending every last moment with the grandkids (4). I don't know how much more we can take as a family be we are sticking together and my father is the strongest... My mother was the best person on earth keeping her faith and holding us all together as she prepared for her journey. I think about her everyday and how strong she was and that keeps me going through my road to recovery. I asked her one day why her and not me to not be cured. She smiled and said god needs more na na's up in heaven more than moms. So stay with your babies and Ill go. God Bless You Na.
