In Loving Memory of
KYLE THOMAS WATHEN 5/30/1996 - 3/3/2006

My son Kyle was born on with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome which means he did not have the left atrium or the left ventricle. He had four open heart surgeries and was on the heart transplant list. He developed Protein Losing Enteropathy and was hospitalized on November 11, 2005 and died in the hospital on March 3, 2006. He was nine years old.

Kyle was an extremely happy boy and everyone that met him fell in love with him. He was always smiling and willing to help anyone who needed it. He was very laid back and loved life. He knew he wanted to be a chef when he was six years old and loved to watch food network. He knew that when he grew up he wanted to have a family and pass his power wheels on to his son. His best friend was my oldest son Tyler who deeply misses him. His absolute favorite movie of all time was Spiderman I think he had watched it five hundred times. Kyle had a way about him that touched many people's lives. I can't explain it no matter how hard I try. He was truly amazing. Our community came together to raise money for our family and Kyle became the little boy that stole many hearts and many hearts broke the day he died. He had all the nurses, doctors, therapists, even the food cart ladies wrapped around his finger and he knew it. He had beautiful dark red hair, blue eyes, and could light up a room no matter where he went. Sometimes I ask myself how could someone so great come from me. How could someone destined to become one of the greatest men on earth die. I don't understand and I don't think I ever will. I have a poem entitled He Only Takes The Best and I believe that with all my heart.
