Feb. 22, 1929 - Aug. 28, 2006
In memory of my Daddy. He and my mother would be celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22nd. Their love was like a fairy tale. The last time I was at their house, my dad pulled my mom to his lap and said, "Isn't she beautiful? I love her so much." Hearing my father say that to my mother just thrilled my heart, especially in these days where divorce is so often found. He heart and voice was filled with laughter. He was quite a jokester and prankster. The most often thing I heard at the funeral home was he had an infectious laugh. He just enjoyed life to the fullest. Even in the last three years of his life when his spine was deteriating, his eye sight was quickly failing him and his hearing was almost gone, he kept that twinkle in his eye and laughter in his voice. For each day brought joy to him. "Children, I have the Lord in the center of my heart; how could I be anything but joyous?" Serving as a Baptist Minister for 55 years, he indeed had the Lord at the center of his life. In the end when he couldn't get in the pulpit, he served by counceling person on the phone and at his home. He was a giver. He was always giving away to those in need. Money, material things, it didn't matter; if there was a need, my Daddy would be there to help. He will truly be missed forever, for he was just too loved to be forgotten.
