Eugene Bill Oreste Montoya, 52, passed away June 23, 2006 in Arcadia California. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Bill O. Montoya. Gene is survived by his mother, Genevieve; his life partner, Tony Alderson; his brothers, Roland and wife, Deborah; John and his wife, Rose; his sister, Ginger and husband Joe and his brother, Gerald; three nephews, Roland II, Carlos, and Joshua; four nieces, Revea, Elisha, Kassondra, and Natalie; numerous aunts and uncles; and many loving friends. He was a graduate of Rio Grande High School and received a bachelor degree from California State University Long Beach. He started his dance career in New York at the age of 19. From there, his career took him across the globe, from Europe and Australia, through every major American city. From the lights of Broadway, to the Las Vegas Strip, to television, movies and commercial work in Los Angeles, Credits include Woman of the year - on Broadway, The Academy Awards, The Emmys, The Tonys, The Miss America Pageant, The Captain and Tennille Variety Show, The Sandy Duncan Show, The Bob Hope Special and various music videos. Movie credits include The Last Married Couple in America, Portrait of a Stripper, Divorce American Style, Can’t Stop The Music, One Good Cop, and The Mask. He preformed for numerous celebrities including Alice Cooper, Chita Rivera, Bob Hope, Lola Falana, Debbie Reynolds, Raquel Welch, Abbey Lane, Leslie Ann Warren, Lauren Bacall, Bobby Gentry, Ann Margaret, Shirley MacLaine, Diana Ross and the Queen of England. He danced and sang his way into the hearts of his family and friends and we will miss him deeply. A Rosary and Mass will be held at the Holy Family Church, 550 Atrisco Dr., SW on Thursday, June 29, 2006 beginning at 8:00am. The visitation will be at 8:00am., Rosary at 8:30am, and Mass at 9:00am. The pallbearers will be Carlos Montoya, Joshua Chavez, Cruz Baca, Ivan Cox, Danny Montoya, and Donald Scott. Arrangements by: Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St., SW Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd., Albuquerque, NM. Section C, Row 5, Space 8.
