Why did it have to be you? Your smile lightened everyones mood and your laugh made us all smile you were a true friend and a loving father. Why did it have to be you? No matter what would happen you remained true; true to who you were and true to your children. Why did it have to be you? You left us in such a tragic way. Your life was taken for no reason at all. Your love was taken away from those who knew you best and loved you most. It had to be you because God needed you to guard something precious there in heaven. For 18 years you worked in corrections to provide everything that you could for your family and for that you are cherished because you were fair at work and fair at home. It had to be you because God knew you didn't deserve the punishment that you took at home. The abuse that you took was not necessary, it wasn't fair. You missed out on many precious things with your oldest daughter but she knew you loved her very much and we miss you. We all miss you.
