ANGELS & BUTTERFLIES
It’s been about a year ago the choo choo seemed so far,
But seconds later unknown to us the choo choo hit our car.
I saw everything that followed but I felt outside of me,
The flashing lights, the sirens, the scrambling I could see.
But for a single moment everything was still,
My momma, my CiCi, my friend, waking up they never will.
The next few days were nothing but a blur,
The pain, I V’s, the needles and tubes kept me in a stir.
I went home to see my CiCi and my momma in a silky bed,
Lying together sound asleep, nothing needed to be said.
They are gone forever, but will be seen again,
What now? I thought, so alone I felt like had never been.
Now I have my mamaw & papaw, my grandma and my daddy,
My MiMi, Bill, my Uncle Cole and I even have my Auntie.
We talk about my momma & CiCi, we laugh at good times,
We look at pictures, shed a tear, set flowers where they lie.
If you ask me where my momma is I point up to the sky,
My CiCi is up there too and by me she does fly.
They watch over me and give me signs they love me from the skies,
It’s easy. They are now Angels & Butterflies.
