GriefNet Pledge Drive 1998 - 1999

How we're doing

GriefNet has begun its first ever website-based pledge drive. This pledge drive expects to bring in 200,000 by the end of 1999. It began on September 1, 1998, and the site-based program was implemented November 1. The funds collected will be used to retire remaining debt incurred during start-up, permit budgeting for clerical staff in the new year, and establish the beginnings of an endowment to keep GriefNet operating well into the new millenium. To date, services and money donated to GriefNet have allowed expansion from a few pages on a gopher server to a site of several hundred pages and more than 25 email-based support groups that serve tens of thousands of visitors each day.

This pledge drive will be followed by regular pledge drives in the new year to maintain operations and allow for growth as the web site continues to provide a much-needed service for people in bereavement and professionals seeking up to date information. Most of the services provided at GriefNet are at low or no cost to the actual users. It is our goal to continue to provide professional, timely information and support to people around the world in the privacy of their own homes regardless of their ability to pay.

All contributions made to GriefNet are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. GriefNet, the Internet name of Rivendell Resources, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the United States. See below for information on how to contribute to this service.
