Last Wish
Betty Rollin
Synopsis
"When Last Wish was first published, the issue of physician-assisted suicide hardly existed. Now it has become one of the major issues of our time. . . .And however one feels about it, how-to-die is an issue that concerns us all. I know that from my mail. Some people I hear from are neither sick nor old. But they worry about a system of medicine and the kind of mindless technology that sometimes prolongs life, even if the person 'living' wants desperately to die. . . .My mother felt she was lucky to get out of life when she did. She wanted others to have that choice as well." |
