In Loving Memory of
Jim Gordon
August 5, 1949 - October 24, 1997

Jim died suddenly at the age of 48 only a few months after our father's death following a long illness. On July 17th 1998 many family and friends gathered for a celebration of his life through the dedication of a beautiful tree planted at the City Hall. He loved the outdoors.

The following poem was given to all who attended this service and I would like to share it as a memorial to my brother, Jim.

Tomorrow would have been his 49th birthday.  Thursday, August 6th, one year ago, I lost my Dad, too.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF JIM GORDON BORN August 5, 1949... Entered Into Rest October 24, 1997. National City, California

"Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am one thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die."

Contributed by Denise Robertson for the many family and friends who loved and will always miss our "Jim"
