In Loving Memory of
ALL FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE, AND ALL RESCUERS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON 9/11/01
In memory of all the rescuers, police and firefighters who have lost their lives in the collapse of the Twin Towers at the WTC in NYC, I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to their families. On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 I awoke around noon, totally unaware of the nation's tragedies that had occurred that morning. I turned on my television and began watching the media reports on the tragic events that had occurred earlier that morning. The first thing I thought of was my friend who is a NYC firefighter. I prayed and prayed that he was uninjured. I sent a short email to him telling him of my prayers and thoughts of him. Later that evening I received a short email from him. A wave of relief swept over me but as I read the one line email my heart was filled with such a great sadness: "...physically drained, emotionally a part of me died." My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have lost their lives but especially to those rescue workers who were the first to go in and were caught in the collapse of the buildings.
Christine M. Kraft, just a concerned American wanting to let the rescue workers know they are doing a fantastic job and to offer my condolences to the families of those who lost a firefighter.
