In Loving Memory of
Janet Arlene Brandt

I lost my mother on February 13, 2000. She was only 61 years old. She left behind a husband, 3 daughters, 1 son, a mother-in-law, and 6 grand children. Although she faced life with courage and strength, she lost her 1 1/2 year battle with lung cancer. I lost, not only my mother, but my best friend. I dedicate this poem I had written to her.
Rest in Peace,

I'm alone,
deep in thought.
Remembering treasures
You enriched in my heart.
More precious than stones,
Grander than gold,
You are the princess.

Flaunting your elegance
in front of all,
You knew of your grace
making sure I did too.
A sparkle in your eye
assured me safety from all,
I depended on you.

You now sit though,
Atop the highest mountain,
in a world, inside a world,
free from all.
The distance is far,
But your presence is near.
Inside my heart you stay.

Through my thoughts of you,
pain in my heart endures.
For no one knows that part of me
that can't let go...
For without the thoughts of you,
And the treasures held sacred from all,
I wouldn't be able to bear
The loss of you

Mom, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not thinking of you. I miss you. All my love, Becky
