In Loving Memory of
Mervin E. Fusch

Dearest Merv,

Thank you for the 34 years we had together. I thank God for bringing you into my life and allowing me to have you as my husband and dearest friend. You loved me unconditionally. You married me and helped me raise my three children after raising four of your own. You were my partner and my helpmate in every way. You were always loving, kind, generous and faithful. You never had a cross word for me or for anyone else. I have always loved you and I miss you terribly. All who knew you loved you, appreciated you, and were inspired by you. You were always so faithful to God and to your country. The high point of your life was your service in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II. I would like to repeat here the song sung at your beautiful memorial service, with words written by me:

THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

It must have been hard, dear, living with me,
You were so kind with no harsh word,
A real inspiration to all who knew you,
You were so faithful to the Lord.

You were much more than just my husband,
My dearest friend, love of my life,
You helped to make my life worth living
And I was so proud to be your wife!

Did you ever know you were my hero,
And everything I would like to be?
I could fly higher than an eagle,
For you were the wind beneath my wings.

Maybe I never thought to tell you,
But I always knew it to be true.
You had the quiet strength I needed,
I would have been nothing without you.

Did you ever know you were my hero,
And everything I would like to be?
I could fly higher than an eagle,
For you were the wind beneath my wings.

You were the wind beneath my wings.
