Oh how we miss you so. So long is the day, now that you've gone. So much more we've thought of to say. Your grandchildren are still beautiful and spoiled. I can never replace their loss in not having you. Nor can I make up the void in my husband's heart. I shall promise only to try to raise their spirits. It will be a most difficult task. I know if you could, you would, say words of encouragement. You always seemed fond of me; and I of you. You are so dear and special to us all. Tears are always flowing; it still seems unreal your no longer here. You will always be in our thoughts and our hearts: the 'short people', your son and his wife.
