In Loving Memory of
Derrick Smith

I'll be in my room. Good by my love, I'll see you soon, if you need to talk, I'll be in my room I will always miss the things you did, now, I will never know if secrets you hid. My heart will forever ache and weep, and pray that I wake up from this nightmarish sleep. I'll always remember the good times and bad, and those memories that keep me from being too sad. Goodbye my love, I'll see you soon, if you need to talk, I'll be in my room. You had such an impact, but a short life, the pain I feel is that of a dull knife. I hope your journey had a swift path, and I pray that you calm my growing wrath. To see you lying there without breath, made me wish for my own death. Goodbye my love, I'll see you soon, if you need to talk, I'll be in my room. When I see you sleeping in that garden of souls, I realize, no one knows next for whom the bell tolls. As we go forth through our guided earthly travel, on roads with smooth faces and others made of gravel. But this I know, you are seated at your Heavenly Father's right, and he has blessed you with the calm of his heavenly light. For you my love, the light came too soon. But if you need to talk, I'll be in my room. This is a poem written by a good friend of mine for his son. I have re-written it, and changed only a few words, but it has truley helped me deal with some of my grief.

I love you so much, and I know that you are now in peace. Ariyana and I love and miss you so much. You loving wife, Amy
